A small creek also cuts across the property and empties into the river. Near the cottage, the river is rather shallow, but just a few minutes’ walk along the shore brings you to a deeper spot where you can fish for bass and walleye.

At La Douce Rivière, outdoor living is at its best: an area for bonfires, private all-season spa on the deck with a view of the river, two bench swings (one near the river, the other beside a man-made pond) a sheltered picnic table, and patio set with barbecue for preparing meals outdoors. There’s even a hammock by the river, perfect for an afternoon nap to the gentle sounds of the river and the wind whispering in the trees.
